Trans Input Shaft RPM = 0.0 rpm

Hi

today my Trans started to shift a bit harsh. After some miles, Check Engine flashed up. DTC was P1810. I cleared all codes and it didn't come back since then. But the shifts are still a bit harsh.
While I was scanning I noticed that the "Trans Input Shaft RPM" allways stays at 0.0 rpm. Is this just an unsupported parameter or is there something wrong?

I don't know if there's a relation between P1810 and "no input trans RPM" but it looks a bit strange.

I've attached a short log with some trans parameters. Unfortunately I couldn't drive very fast. :o

No one ever logged Trans Input Shaft RPM??

It's zero while you're driving, or at idle? Or both? You may have some transmission issues if it's zero while driving. Could be a problem with the speed sensor, or possibly a bad reluctor wheel.

It's at zero all the time.

See if it's triggering max adapt. If it is, that trans will be destroyed in short order. Set the max adapt DTC to no error reported until you get whatever your issue is, resolved.

What's max adapt?
I only get P1810 from time to time, but now the trans shifts normal again. I suppose there's something wrong with the connector at the trans. Because every time this happend, it was raining.

Max adapt is usually the default trans action when it detects something out of the norm. It's a DTC but it doesn't make the SES light come on. It causes the trans to command max pressure at all times... overheating the fluid and later killing itself lol

I checked DTCs this morning. But there's only P1810. I logged the lever position several times and everything was fine. So it seems there's a bad contact in the connector or a cable break in the harness. I'll check that this weekend. Maybe the problem with the trans input shaft rpm is caused by the same problem.

I checked the connector and everything look good. It seems that this sensor isn't wired to the VCM... :confused:

Could someone with a V6 Camaro/Firebird please check if he can read "Trans Input Shaft RPM"?

My question got answered in another forum and I thought I'd share the answer. If someone else ever wonders why it always reads 0.0 rpm...
V6 Camaros don't use this sensor.
