Anyone know if there is a thermostat bypass built into the oil filter housing... or where the oil cooler lines exit the block?
Or is it constant flow utilizing the coolant to bring oil up to temp quicker and then keep it cool?

Not sure on the thermostat bypass, but according to the factory service manuals, one of the oil cooler lines (outlet) attaches to the oil filter adapter, and the other attaches to the block just below it (inlet).

I think I’ll need to put the truck back together with current cooler and hold the lines and see if I can feel flow when it’s cold
GM SI shows no thermostat. Most likely because cooler is part of radiator.
Looks like an external thermostat controlled bypass is in my future then.
