Scanning other OBD2 vehicles

Hey guys looks like I'll be getting the HPT software for Christmas, from my wife or as a present to myself. I was wondering about scanning other OBD2 vehicles with the scanner. My wife and I have a 02 Camaro, 97 C2500 5.7L , and a 97 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L. I'm going to get the software for the 02 Camaro, so the scanner should work fine with it and I know the 97 C2500 is not supported on the editing side but I assume the scanner should work just fine on it. My main question is about the Jeep, all I really want to do is read codes off of the Jeep can HPT do that. I know in the FAQ it talks about scanning only GM OBD2, but I just want to read codes not scan as I'm driving. Thanks.
