I've ran through a few 2018-19 cars that won't let us tune the VVE. As soon as you turn off the MAF, the car goes into limp mode. Is there an option or way around this? Clearly we can't tune in limp mode. What have you guys been doing or are you not running into this issue?

Make sure you make all the MAF MIL indicators "No Error Reported", if I recall correctly. I just went through this, and forgot a single code, and that kept putting me into RED. Otherwise - using a similar format to Gen III stuff to run SD seemed to work for me.

You don't need to disable MAF to calibrate VVE. With the GMVE value available on CAN, we haven't needed to turn the MAF off for over 10 years. You can gather the error data on both airflow sources simultaneously.

Do a search on GMVE. You can log it and apply an error to it to build a VVE table in the scanner. I think there is good content in the GenIV section if I recall correctly.

That is an HP Tuners limitation. If you run my math parameter, it references a GMVE airflow calculation that doesn't have that 512g/s hard stop. You can extract the function from the parameter and make a new parameter with it to monitor GMVE airflow separately.Quote:

I'm currently tuning for headers and a new TB. Having issues getting things dialed because of all the fail-safes I am running in to. I am unable to disable stft, I'm using a wb btw. I can't get DFCO to not engage and mess up my maf data.
I am close to having the maf tuned I believe however I would really like to understand this method of doing both a bit better. It would save me days of before and after work tuning.
I really appreciate any help.
