MAP Sensor configuration change for forced induction modification

I am not a big V6 calibrator and have come up with a situation where an FI modification has effected the Barometric reading by the PCM. On the E38 V8's, we have an EOS that handles this issue but am ignorant if there is a workaround for this in the E39a world.

Is it possible to change the programmed MAP Sensor Configration from NA-MAP-TIAP on a 2013 3.6 Camaro (E39A) running OS #12655008 to say NA-MAP-Baro so the BARO is no longer calculated based on the Intake Manifolds pressure to preclude corrupting the Baro reading during boost? Or is there maybe a compatible OS that already has this configred where we can use the APP1 for the Baro sensor?

First let me start by saying my current knowledge base is from information I have learned on the E78/92 PCM platforms...hoping it applies :-)

Not sure what DSL TC is as it is not in any of my paperwork...assume its something to do with a Turbo. What I am trying to do is relocate a map sensor to the ambient air (designate it as BARO) so the Barometric value doesn't have to be calculated from the Intake Manifold MAP Sensor, and use the original MAP sensor which in the current configuration (NA-MAP-TIAP) will vary from vacuum to max boost and screw up the Ambient Barometric Pressure calculation it is performing. The closest NA application (assuming that come the closest to being supported by the NA based platform E39a PCM) I see is the NA-MAP-TIAP which utilizes the Intake Manifold sensor for MAP and a second sesnor designated as TIAP which can be located just before the input to the Turbo and connected through the APP1 input. This would provide the BARO reading and only represent the ambient air pressure and aloow for elevation changes and not be influenced by the turbo compression prioessure increase to the Intake Manifold.

i just highlighted DSL but that whole list of options lists the tasks of the map sensor. above it should be the NA-MAP-TIAP and NA-MAP options. I didn't mean to highlight a specific one. Excuse my lack of explanation.
I haven't wired one in physically so i don't understand the correct terminal alignment for the TIAP but the table selection should work the same as the E78.
Hopefully i am helping, even if it is just a little bit.

DSL-TC stands for Diesel- Turbo Charged application FYI.

So after a bit more research it turns out here are my specific questions:

1) As the above vehicle and OS were delivered as NA, I am assuming the TIAP sensor is not installed, only the Intake Manifold sensor and the BARO is determined from its output each time you go into wide open throttle like its big brother the V8's...If i am wrong, I will be happier :yay:

2) Assuming #1 is correct :(, is there provisions in the E39a PCM to add the TIAP into the APP1 slot? If this is possible, is the OS referenced above capable of managing that second sensor by changing the MAP Config to NA-MAP TIAP which according to the description I have read, will develop the Baro from that sensor?

Update for the watchers......

The car is equipped with both the intake manifold installed sensor and the TIAP sensor integrated in the MAF even thoug it was delivered as an NA platform....it is a bit tough doing the triage as the car is 2700 miles away in Peru....so we will add a breakourt sensor from the MAF to move the TIAP out of the Boost path into the engine bay, try with the as delivered MAP Config of NA-MAP-TIAP (this says it calulates the Baro which is the problem) and change the MAP Config to NA-MAP-BARO which will now only see ambient atmosphere.....

Latest Test update......

Using MAP Config NA-MAP-BARO and a relocated TIAP to the engine bay, the BARO Channel voltage level remains a constant 3.02 through out the logs but the BAROmetric Value in the Chart gets modified each time the PCM transitions into/out of WOT depending on the the level of boost encountered so it appears that the BARO is still being calculated.....from the Intake MAP sensor I would have to imagine as that is the only sensor in the boost path ....So either the E78 ECM writeup is not consistant with the E39a, or another OS is required to actual impart change similar to the Flex Fuel selection....

Will try a TC (Turbocharge) Map config now...

All the sensor config info is that which has been published against the E78 PCM so there may be difference to the E39a ,,,,

Update: -- So we went with the TC-TIAP-BARO config setting for this test. The good news is the Barometric Pressure value stopped updating greater than ambient during the wot transitions regardless of of high high the boost levels were....the bad news (if it is?) was now the BARO channel voltage went from 3.02v (see aboves test) to 0v without changing any of the hardware relocation setups.....just the tune configuration selection.

The burning question I have now is how does the PCM do the interconnecting of APP1, APP2 and APP3 to the various map sensors...as you select the different Pressure Sensor Configurations. It seems like its a matrix switch. This V6 Camaro setup consists of 2 sensors...the Intake Manifold Sensor (MAP) and the sensor integrated into the MAF (TIAP).

Stock hrdware and Pressure config of NA-MAP-TIAP (MAP and TIAP fitted; APP1=TIAP and BARO calculated) caused Barometric pressure values to increase based on the boost levels

When we selected the NA-MAP-BARO (MAP and BARO fitted; AAP1=BARO and TIAP calculated) config, the Barometric Pressure Channel followed the boost while the Barometric voltage channel was fixed at 3.02v which we felt was the static value for the ambient barometric pressure which was 11 psi (75 kPa). This led us to believe that we were still calculating the BARO much like the stock setting of NA-MAP-TIAP?

When we went with the TC-TIAP-BARO (MAP, TIAP and BARO fitted; AAP1=TIAP, AAP2 = BARO and TIAP calculated) the BARO voltage went to 0 but the Barometric pressure never went higher than the 1 atmosphere which meant we were actually seeing the reloacted map sensor as the BARO value, but not apparently through the original channel? It appeared that we actually disconnected the reloacted sensor from the BARO voltage input circuit.....?

The big problem is the car is 1700 miles away and tough to make tests/changes with any continuity....so if anyone can add any additional information on the Pressure Sensor Config settings vs connections/operations in the PCM, I would be much appreciated. At least we can say it appears we have corrected the Boosted Baro update issue and now the customer can travel from sea level to his 5000+ ft elevation with accurate Baro updates to the fueling.....
