Newb question re: GM E67, HP Tuners,and EGT inputs for warning lamp or limp mode

First post, attempting to become more familiar with tuning and protecting the engine along the way. I'll keep this as brief as possible.
I'm hoping to hear from experienced HP Tuner's if there is some way to configure the OEM E67 ECU to incorporate the inputs of 6 EGT sensors. This addition will be both for tuning and for engine safety during drag racing. I'd like to trigger either a warning lamp or limp mode if the temps on one or more sensors pass a threshold.

I have seen kits advertised that are said to communicate via CAN, however I have no idea if those can be made to work with the GMLAN. I'm exceeding the limits of my knowledge here.
The alternative would be a stand alone system that activates a dedicated warning light. Any suggestions on where to source a kit like this would be a great help.

Any help is appreciated, and I'll happily add more detail if requested.
