Using Track Addict without Cell Disabled

I'd like to use Track Addict at my local track - however, they disallow phones in cars because of the phones' setting to automatically dial emergency services when they sense a critical accident. They have onsite emergency services so they don't want phones doing this unnecessarily.

Can anyone comment on use of Track Addict with just GPS signal and cellular signal disabled?

For optimal accuracy, start your session while your GPS lock is strong and have the app open in the foreground.
