Can you force E90 / E93 computer into maf only mode?

Curious if I can put a 2020 truck in maf only mode for airflow calculations. Started off as a Lingenfelter 2650 truck, now it has alot more items including a cam. Lingenfelter loads their tune onto the ecm with you sending it in and they have no way to send their tune for me to load per my convo with them. HpTuners downloads the stock GM file, so it's a start from scratch thing, but Lingenfelter has a bunch of other stuff on this vehicle so I believe their actual coding could be different. I'm getting a max throttle command with only 20% pedal which is clearly wrong. I've tuned plenty of the trucks without issue and this is the first to have a problem.

The short answer is no.

Check to see how the map sensor is hooked up. On a Global A truck, they use a one bar map hooked to the inlet and don't use the LSA sensor post rotors on the 2650. I have their kit, but had more success using the LSA sensor.

And, you'll have to tune the maf and neural network at the same time.

They could send you the cal if they really wanted to, but...

AND as I'm sure you're aware you can also set the NN up to read into boost to be able to tune it there too. HPT finally fixed all of that a few months ago...

Thanks for the replies. It has the 1bar map sensor off to the side from their earlier kits. It also has the 3bar map sensor in the supercharger as well, but not hooked up per the install manual & Lingenfelter saying not to use it when I spoke to them. I've talked to Lingenfelter a few times now and they were not much help other than saying it shouldn't be like that. They also will not send their box tune they put in this truck. Found out that the original install was done, ecm sent to Lingenfelter, but the vehicle was throwing codes and didn't work correctly. Vehicle was shipped to them for calibration adjustments. I believe the 3bar would be better considering the nn tuning is there for boost area now on the Global A ECM.

So once the vehicle has 100kpa reading the cmd throttle goes 100%. Issue is with the cam I have in it, it goes from 50-55kpa to 100kpa REAL QUICK, lol. There is no in between since the bypass valves slams shut with minimal vacuum at that point & it's getting all of it. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty wild and cool but will get old real quick. Looking into a different bypass valve with a lighter spring to stop the quick into boost situation. I have done plenty of 1k+ build and this truck is violent the way it is currently.

My last option: I can run a dual port bypass valve and control it with the Reflex box that is running the port injection if needed. I'm trying to keep the parts to a minimal though since the owner drives the truck alot and needs reliability.

Any thoughts or ideas are much appreciated.

Check with Will or Dave to see if it's possible to populate the sciap background tables, activate the sciap background tables and then install a sciap onto it and set it up to use the lt4 or lsa map and go from there. You'll also want the sciap smoothing factor and a few other settings if they're in there on an E90. Then from that point get the NN and torque models right. All of the throttle issue will be gone.

Post your tune. Mine is running and driving great without a sciap, but I am currently adding one just to see if it works and how much it helps.

That's just it with a lot of these. You'll have some tune out fine without them, which honestly most of the newer ones actually do then you can take the identical cal and put it into another one and it'll buck and jump barely touching the throttle. I don't even bother touching a truck anymore unless it's got one unless it's a newer one with a PD blower as this very issue is why people usually want them tuned in the first place. On a side note, Verlon has made it possible to add a real baro sensor to the gen 4's for those looking for fuel solutions on them when they don't have 2bar OS's as an option to limit the baro update with wot ;)

Can you tell us more about this on Gen 4? Searching did not come up with anything. I've been living with mine updating itself to 104.5 kpa for about 5 years now.

I just did it on an E38 controller with Verlon's guidance. Actually really easy to do and I don't know why hpt doesn't have this BS defined. You'll have to talk to Verlon about getting it done as he's the only one able to get into the gen 4's right now that I know of or rather he's the only one that has any of them defined. You have to add in the baro sensor wiring, install a ls3 map sensor and then as Verlon showed me change about 8 or 10 different settings. Working great on this PD blower car I'm working on right now. This guy changes altitudes a lot and it WAS REALLY screwing with his fueling.

Then for anyone else wondering, Will_974 is really good at getting those SCIAP's set up on the genV's if anyone needs help with them. I'm just not sure if all the tables are in the e90's as I haven't needed to put one on one of them yet.

I was also asked earlier about how to change the scaling for the NN VE tables. If you go under speed density - layer inputs - I think it was xl max or something like that - change the load value to the maximum load mass you would possibly expect to see. There are two tables you need to do that in. Do it to both. You will lose your fine tuning capability, so don't go too high. 1.5 is usually way more than enough.

I did get this one figured out by raising NN values to what the vehicle will see under boost (thanks GHuggins) and changing the bypass valve to a light spring bypass valve from superchargersonline.com Truck made mid 700's on 93 octane and low 800's on E85 to the wheels which was on 6.5psi boost. Break in miles and then the 2.65 upper is going on for some real power. LME 416, 9.45 lower, Lingenfelter 2650, ported stock heads, stg2 cam, toohighpsi port injection. Very good powerband with a smooth transition into boost and beyond.

Are these tables still missing? I have a Global B that won't go into boost, it will if set the NA -MAP but with no throttle control and massive spark reduction. I have SCIAP and it reads the NN and MAF are very close where I can compare, the VE pegs at 1, about 85 kpa and 45% throttle. Did I also see mention of a HP issue with NN calculations in boost?
