E40 07 Colorado swap Segment OS needed

I have a 07 Colorado with a 05 5.3l swap. with 08 Yukon intake and throttle body E40, t42 and harness out of a 06 GTO. Got it all running but pedal won't work. Pedal is from 06 Trailblazer 4.3l. Current performance web states that I will need to segment swap to a Trailblazer with a 5.3l to get pedal to work properly. I have been searching everywhere to get the correct OS for a segment swap. I have found a match for the ECM but not the TCM. I even tried to remove the TCM controller and with the same OS the segment swap is still greyed out. I also ordered a Trailblazer TCM hoping to find a matching TCM OS with no luck. Also downloaded dozens of tunes from the Repository.

Have been using HPT for about 3 years with several swaps and tunes under my belt but never messed with the E40. Is this some issue with this ECM in general. E40's are running over $350 on Ebay so I don't want to order a bunch to try to find a correct one.

I have double and triple checked all wiring from pedal to TB.

The segments you need to swap to make it work with a different pedal are the two segments you cannot read or write in HP Tuners. GTO and the trucks never shared the same OS, but they do use the same ECM service number.

Also, if you just change the whole OS from GTO to Trailblazer, you can't do that with HPT either. Because, same problem, writing a Trailblazer file to it won't change the two GTO ETC segments. To change the OS it has to be done with GM SPS & Tech2/MDI/other J2534 device.

Gen 4 stuff like this should go in the Gen 4 section, one door down from here.

Hang on - is the pedal connector pinned out according to the GTO diagrams, or Trailblazer? Because they are different.

it is a 24x gen 3 setup though

i matched the GTO pinout and probed each with multimeter for continuity and also for the proper 5v reference and low reference

I was worried about this so i just ordered a E40 from a 5.3l trailblazer hopefully it will work. then i can hold this GTO ecu and TCM and sell later if I don't use it. thanks for the info

In HPTuners-world E40 is a Gen 4, look at the 'Tune Details' tab in your editor.

Can't use the GTO pinout at the APP connector, it is different. A/B/C does not correlate with 1/2/3/. The pin numbers at the ECM are the same, use the Trailblazer diagram.

I went with how they corelate by the diagram, and wired the TB pedal to match, thinking its a resistance difference Between what the ECU wants to see and what the pedal may be putting out. I just ordered a trailblazer 5.3l e40 and will rewire to match when I get it. thanks for your help.

It doesn't work by resistance. And APP1 has to go to the APP1 pins at ECM, and APP2 to APP2 pins, because they return different voltages, for error checking. They even go different directions as the pedal goes down - one goes up with more pedal, other goes down. This is so it can be sure the two signals aren't simply shorted together and only one sensor is working. (on different years/platforms, they go the same direction but different starting/ending points)

Just to close this thread out. I ordered an E40 out of a 06 Trailblazer with a 5.3l engine (PN 12596679) and the pedal worked. The pinouts for the GTO and Trailblazer were identical for the needed wiring. But looking at the diagram, it appears that the GTO pedal has an extra resistor in it that must have been why it wasn't working like I had wanted.
