First attempt at using HP Tuners

The insane amounts of information on the forum makes finding the right information challenging; I plugged into my '03 Corvette today for the first time, refreshed the links and all those things I heard I should do before starting then I ran my first scan and saved the stock file so when I screw up the program I can return to zero and try again.
Once I had the stock file saved I created a copy made my edits to the new file I had created and went to write it to the car and that's when I started getting an error saying I needed more credits. I have four credits, I'm working on one car, why is it not allowing me to write the modified file to my car? Do I need a credit for every file I create? As I work my way through tuning and changing that could be hundreds and that doesn't seem right.
So, where am I going wrong?

Have you ever licensed the file you are working with? If so start a help ticket with HPT. If you have not licensed that file/pcm, then you need to do that with the MPVI connected to your lap top, I believe. You can also log into your account to see how many credits you have available. Your C5 should only require 2 credits.

You will only need to license the file/PCM once and you can make as many changes as you like to that file, along with write to that PCM with the licensed file as many times as you like, thousands if you so desire.

Thank you, I thought that's how it was supposed to work. I must not be saving something correctly because it acts as if I'm working on a different car every time I make a change.
I'm sure the answers are in the forums but I haven't found it yet; days of reading ahead of me.

Post the stock file you read from the ecm along with the file you are attempting to flash to the ecm.

I downloaded the stock scan, made a copy under a new name so I could make small changes and this is what I have.
