L5P Tuning Info

I have been out of the game for a few years now and I'm now in the process of figuring out what i need to start tuning a L5P. I have a MPVI 1 Pro and its my understanding I need to upgrade to MPVI 2 or MPVI 3 is that correct? Are we just buying unlocked ECMs from hptuner or using that cord and unlock box? Any reputable tuner vendors here that I can purchase good safe tunes from and i just write them to the truck?

You will need the MPVI3 (you can use an earlier version, but why if you are buying a new unit) with the unlock tool unless you want to purchase an ECM that is already unlocked. A total of 8 credits will be needed to unlock and license the VIN.

Okay and then four more credits to unlock the TCM if I want to tune the transmission?

TCM cannot be unlocked with the unlock tool or the MPVI.
