2011 Tundra 4.6
Hello guys... Looking for some help with a 2011 Tundra 4.6. A customer of mine bought a gorgeous truck almost 2 years ago, just after getting it, he started getting the dreaded SAI codes and going into limp mode. After some research, we found the Hewitt Technologies kit, we got the stage 2 bypass kit, it worked for a few months then started getting all of the codes again. So now, we just want to "tune it out". I had him stop by so I could pull the stock file from his truck, I got some kind of message about not being able to get the file from his PCM but pulled one from the internet (repository?). Looking through the tune, everything seems to look like something that would be in the truck, so I unchecked and selected no error reported on all of the SAI codes and went into the engine tab and set the throttle limits for limp mode or whatever. My question is, before I end up bricking his PCM, since the tune didn't ACTUALLY come from his truck, will the "modified" tune flash to his PCM? Thanks Guys!

Can you show how HP Tuner identified your car?
As an example.

It was a few weeks back when I had him bring the truck by so I could pull the file from it... If memory serves, yes, that example looks familiar. It displayed some kind of message saying something like file could not be downloaded but a file was downloaded from the internet.

So no one has tuned an 11 Tundra with a 4.6?

Upload a file that was downloaded from the Internet using HP Tuners
