Use a "flag" (Closed Loop Active) to Filter My Chart Data?

OBJECTIVE: In a nutshell, I want a filter parameter in my graphs to identify when I am in closed or open loop.

ISSUE: I have the variable [Closed Loop Active] (a.k.a.[12942]} in my Channels list. [Closed Loop Active] is defined as a flag that outputs [Yes/No].
I want to use [Closed Loop Active] to filter my data in my Graphs, however it is not available in the Variable Wizard / Parameter Selector. I can add the parameter as a number [12942] in the [Filter Function] box and the [Graphs Display Layout Editor] will take it, however it will not filter the data (does not seem to work work if the parameter is not listed in the [New Variable] list).

To get around this... I tried to add [Closed Loop Active] as a Math Parameter (assuming the output would be 0 or 1).... and then added in a basic graph to see the output of this math parameter, however there is no output (blank graph).

How do I convert this flag to a useable number for filtering my data?

HPT have chosen that a yes/no, On/Off is not possible as a filter or math. its the same issue with DFCO. You could look at the average fuel trim is different from 0.0.
