2006 Jeep Wrangler No Read?
Back in April 2015 I attempted to read my PCM from HP Tuners Beta 2.25 on this vehicle and it apparently it did so at the time, but eventually I received the "known checksum error message" after a read of 10 minutes, of which HP Tuners stated I would need to send in my checksumerror.hpt file regarding this error to obtain compatibility for my vehicle in particular. I mean it recognized the vehicle and attempted a read at the time of which is how I generated the checksum error message.
Well, I sent them my checksumerror.hpt file that they requested and was sent back a newer version of HP Tuners Beta after a day or so.
Well, long behold after receiving that software and installing it, now all I receive are protocol detect errors. I check with my "non HP Tuners" OBD2 scanner and it reads everything fine on the vehicle.
So I wait........late August 2015 and an even newer version of HP Tuners 2.25. An MPVI interface firmware file flash came as well this time. No difference in ability to read or even try to read the PCM like before, and I receive the same protocol detect errors.
Being it that it at least would detect my vehicle and read from the PCM when I very first started to perform a read from the beta editor back in early April 2015, I doubt there is an issue with my PCM. Keep in mind my non HP Tuners OBD2 scanner works well with no issues.
What the hell is going on here? Is my MPVI interface OK? It shows no driver issues, and apparently it flashes updates just fine. What gives? I am computer literate of course.
Why is it failing to detect the protocol and will not even begin to attempt a read now?
