Tips for tuning a '12 Yukon Denali 6.2L/6A?

My buddy got a Yukon Denali recently and he's trying to improve it on a modest budget. We installed an LS3/LS7 90mm throttle body and a really nice Airaid intake. Now I'm writing a tune for him. I have a good amount of experience with GM's 6-speed automatic, but none with any V8 engines.

I don't have a wideband tuner, but I was just wondering if there were any specific parameters for this powertrain that restrict output, or basic tuning strategies to start with that unlock the most power. If there's a thread someone wants to point me toward, that's cool too.
