2014 F150 2.7 MIL:ON and dies after start with no codes

Like the title says a friends F150 2.7L eco boost shuts off about 5-10 seconds after start.He says the problem started at random and got worse.
In HPT scanner diagnostics it knows the MIL is lit but there are no codes listed at all.Tried multiple times.

Is there somewhere else to look for codes on these trucks?

If not - I guess we will pull the intake off and watch the TB to see if maybe its slamming that shut for some reason and go from there.
