Pretty cool thread going back to the start of this forum with "hackers" and such. Look at HPTuners now! Wow!
Anyway, my name is Brian and I just opened the box and installed the HPTuners software on my tuning laptop. I've been tuning imports with aftermarket standalones and piggyback computers for a few years already and now have a chance to try out the HPTuners on my personal ride, an 05 Silverado (that I bought from the dealer I used to be a technician for) and the TT GTO I'm putting together for a customer right now. I'll be in and out asking dumb questions for a while on here, until I pick it up and can start answering everyone elses dumb questions! :)
this is a good thread. is it a sticky?
Hi- My name is Paul and I'm new to HP Tuners. I have an 04' GTO With a Procharger building about 10 lbs of boost, SLP Long tubes, 1.8:1 roller rockers and Alcohol Injection Systems boost activated system. My friend told me to use HP Tuners and I bought it. It's installed and he has made some maps w/it but I really don't understand a whole lot about it. He swears by it and I can see now how versatile it is. I need to leard a lot. Need to know about air/fuel ratios. Last dyno was 515rwhp-but ratio was at about 10.
i am new here .the car i use my new MPVI pro system on is a 1986 fiero gt that i have swapped a 2.2 ecotec and 5 speed manual tranny from a 2004 cavalier into . i then turboed it with a 16g that usually you would find on a subaru wrx .i added 32lb injectors and snow water meth and a bosche recirc bov . the car ran really well except for occasional hot start flooding and cold weather plug fouling after extended non boost driving .i run 8 lbs of boost and have roughly 190 RWHP [email protected] mph 1/4 .so far i have changed the injector constant and this hopefully will solve the non boost driveability issues .i am going to up the boost to around 12 and add an fmu to increase fuel under boost and use hp tuners to keep things from blowing up .i have all the cavvy harness and bcm , ecm ,and dash cluster installed in my car .other mods are 11" brakes ,tubular suspension with coilovers and 16" wheels with kumo ecsta tires .my car is the first running turbo ecotec powered fiero , and only the second running eco powered fiero . there are now about 6 fiero's with ecotecs in them and more being built all the time .
Hello Bill @Hpt I just signed in here the other day I have a 90 regal gs with a series II swap and a dhp pt. I decided to come here because my other tuning friends are here already....Bilemke, Eddie98gtp, Foghorn, and Jerry H to name a few.
I dont have money to buy a HPT anytime soon but hopefully I will be to help out here and there!
WiLL:cheers:
I am Michael, I have a 2000 SS Camaro with an air ride going in this winter/spring season. After that I plan on purchasing HPT and jumping into the game so I can tune my nitrous setup. Been lurking the boards and reading up I feel quite confident as I shall embark on a journey of tuning. Plus I have some f-body friends on the side so I can have the program pay for itself. ;)
Hi everyone. I started posting on here a couple weeks ago, but I've had the HPT for about 6 months now. I have a 2000 Buick Regal GS with the mods in my sig. I've only run at the track once, with street tires and stock trim. I'm hoping to get back there in the spring with my additional mods and tune and hit the 12's. I live just outside Trenton, NJ. I'm also on the regalgs.org and clubgp forums quite a bit (Bob C.)
Brought my tuner back in june, and still baffled but getting there. Will not trade it for anything except for 100 million then I'd go buy another one and send HP some money so they can make it easier for us new b's who just cant catch on :)
Hello all.
Name is steve, and I've been lurking around reading and searching through various threads trying to start learning the in's and out's of tuning. Hope to be purchasing VCM suite very soon, as soon as money allows.
I decided to just take the leap and learn how to do my own tune work, mainly based on my family's background of constantly tinkering with just about every car we own, and they're all GM products.
After I get a handle on all of this, here are the cars in the family that I intend on becoming familiar with:
-Father's 2004 GTO (Currently with LT's and exhaust, awaiting a cam and nitrous)
-Brother's 2007 Silverado Classic (LBZ) - awaiting 5" exhaust
-My daily driver 1999 Sierra (5.3) - awaiting LT's, Cam, nitrous
-Wife's 2006 Cobalt SS/SC - awaiting Meth injection, injectors, and pulley
I also intend on converting the 3 gas burners to E85, as soon as more stations carry it in my area.
All of this information is a mound of knowledge that isn't going to cram down easily, but I have confidence that I can learn how to safely tune each vehicle for optimal performance and driveability, and I'll have to apologize now for all the stupid questions I'll be asking in the future.
Hi all, just getting ready to purchase the HP Tuners Pro package and just getting started on tuning full-time. I live in Columbus, Oh and recently graduated from the ACP class at EFI101.com and have my EFI High Performance Tuning Certificate. Can't wait to get HP Tuners and an LM1 after Christmas.
Hit me up if you need tuning in Ohio.
Hey everybody. My names Peter. Just installed HPT Pro and am so ready to ditch the factory 00' Silverado tune. E85 and a few other mods are in the works. This is hopefully a test bed for if I ever get a G8. So much to learn but its winter so there is plenty of time for reading. I have an LC-1 ready to go in this weekend.
Anybody near Sierra Vista AZ. My name is John. I just got this sw and will be working with my 97 Covette that has an '07 L92/L76, performance cam, aftermarket internals, 90mm throttle body, long tube headers, etc....Looking for folks nearby with modifications and HP tuner experience. I also have a CTS-V (wife's) and a 5.3 liter Sierra I might experiment with.
Howdy:hi: ....just jumped over here from the Corvette Forum to LEARN what I can about HPTs, as I just installed it in my '02 ProCharged Vette....already blown away about the difference HP Tuners made after my Dyno Tune...picked up 31 more rwponies...nice. Now, it's on to read & learn & search or  ask for help....

Just checking in with everyone as I have just bought the hp tuner pro system and can't wait till I get good with it. I have a 2005 A4 with hand controls as I am a para and drive with my hands. I had the speed shop put a tune in it but I want to improve on that tune. Looking froward to meeting all the members here and getting some great info and hopefully I can help out too but I doubt it for now. Give me some training and 6-12 months from now I will be able to help out that new guy that we all were. So hello to all and let me start reading up on this system. C6 ROLLER Charlie
Hello All:
My names Mike, I'm interested in trucks, motorcycles, computers, etc.
I'm retired so I have plenty of time to play with my toys. Currently have
been working on my 2005 Silverado V6 4.3l. Recently learned its now
supported in HP Tuners, am also at that point that the tune will bring me
more performance than all the standard bolt-ons. Wish me luck.

hello my name is darren smith.i live in queensland australia.my hobbies are car tuning and wiring building tesla coils and general electronics.my car is a whipple supercharged vp v6 commodore running sp3 kalmaker ecu that i tuned myself.i just like to say this is an excellant forum with lots of info and good ideas.
Hi, my name is Chris. I'm in SC...retired here from Utah after 21 yrs in the military. Love to hunt, fish, tear stuff apart and make it better. I own a 2003 Chevy Silverado 4x4 w/ 5.3L V8. I've changed out the gears recently from 4.10 to 4.88...this is to compliment a 6 inch lift and 35" tires. I'm looking to increase power and torque for off roading and towing my boat. My most recent delima is the ABS light coming on all the time. But after spending virtually minutes on the forums I've found that this is an ABS module issue. Tech2 will fix this right up. Can't wait to get my VCM equipment to start work. See you all in the forums.
My Name is Steve. I have a 1970 Mach 1 Mustang that I dropped a Boss351 engine into, a 97GTP coupe (daily driver) and a 99GTP sedan 9 (track car). Back in 1996, I searched for a GTP as my first new car, but after not being able to find one, I settled on a 95 Grand Prix SE, and loved these cars ever since.
I rebuild my own engines, and like wrenching overall. I like to keep busy and like challenges. Now that I've learned how to rebuild the 3800's, I'm moving on to learn how to tune them. Love the software, learning more every day. Great site and support. I know it's frustrating when things break or don't work, but it was my choice to mod my cars so I have no one to blame but myself if something isn't working like I want it to. Goes with the territory. For those that don't understand this, take an anger management class :D .Thank you to all those who help over and over. I'm sure it's anoyingly repetitive to keep helping newbies year after year with same quesitions, but the patience is appreciated and looking forward to be able to help and contribute with answering questions once I'm more skilled in this area.
See you guys around.
