Yeah the stock torque converters are hot trash. My truck had had on replaced and it failed, with the stock tuning of course. I pulled the trans out had it rebuilt, with updates and much better clutches, at that point and used a Circle D twin disk lockup for stock stall truck applications. It's so much better than the stock converter. I kept the tcc apply the same with it but did bump the shift points up a little under normal driving. I didn't mess with shift timing at all because that seemed fine for how it is normally driven.

Reviving the dead.
This is the first I've read about zero desired slip problems. Do you still leave these tables stock? I figured the built-in slip would impact the clutch life and mpg's.
Also, what's your preferred method for tuning injector timing and knock sensor sensitivity? I've read that people are having good results with reducing KR by adjusting the POI table around cruise.
