dont hold your breath, we are a dieing breed:rant:
hope we can get this... TC is not much better than lt1 edit...
i guess im gonna have to invest in tuner cat, ive had to turn away alot of lt1's as of late.
only problem is you cant buy "tuner cat" unless you buy a roadrunner pcm from http://www.moates.net/....
I bought hp tuners for my 98 firebird and it would be great if i could tune my 96 corvette too
sure would be awsome hp tunners is the best out there
It's always been Windows based...the only DOS Editor for the LT1 I've ever seen wasn't by LT1 Edit...Quote:

Your best bet for LT1 swaps and tunning is tunercat and the autoprom.
You can flash with tunercat and autoprom
you will need seperate application for datalogging, but you can use the autoprom as the interface. Try winaldl and freescan, both of which do not cost anything.
Swap to the 95 ECM with the LT4 knock module. Unflashed these are around 100 bucks. Google the install pretty straight forward. You eliminate the necessity for the second O2 and you can flash with tunercat.
Bill hope I did not step on any toes making this post.
I know I'm wasting my time, and your bandwidth, but just wanted to say, I also own an LT1 & an LS2.....
'96 Z28, and an '05 Corvette.
You wanna do it reasonable cost? Swap to a 94/95 PCM (see Impalassforum.com) and do a 95 swap and use TunerCat OBD1 ($70+$20 for LT1 def) and Freescan (free) or TTS Datamaster (awesome scantool, reads a ton and much faster than OBD2, but $120, but does give you 20 free runs)
Not to mention you don't have to buy credits with TunerCat OBDI. Tune as many as you want, just buy the software once.
I have been tuning OBD1 LT1's (and OBD1 swapped 96/97 LT1's) for years now with TunerCat, and it's great. I was still a poor college kid when OBD2 TunerCat was for sale before the rights to it were sold to Jet as Jet DST...and I have no desire to buy a roadrunner in order to be able to buy OBD2 TC...so I'd be pretty excited about OBD2 LT1 support. In MA, if I so much as swap an OBD1 8051 PCM into an OBD2 LT1 car just to correct the speedometer for different height tires, the car will fail the plug in inspection test, plus making a divide by 2 circuit for the tach in a 96 Impala SS is a pain in the ass (4 cylinder tach in those cars) when converting to OBD1.
I guess buying Jet DST (and new licenses every time someone wanted a car tuned) wouldn't be the end of the world, but I'd rather just buy HPTuners credits and use them on whatever vehicle someone wants me to tune.
I would like to see this as well. I've turned away a lot of money.
Can we swap in a Gen3 99+ PCM in a 96 Impala SS ?
Can it be done?
Probably not and if so it sounds like a massive undertaking.
Thanks Bill! I sure would like to tune this car with HPTuners.
hows about a christmas present here..... lt1 support
