I haven't, but the pinout is close, very close.
I can post the pinouts tomorrow for the 98 computers. Dont know what the 97's are, though.
I'll see what I can find.
I know O2 sensors are moved, probably injectors down a bit too. But most else is very close.
For some info on the 98/99 PCMs, check out this page on diy-efi.org. In the bottom, they have schematics for the PCMs with the pinouts listed in each schematic. Somewhere I have complete pinouts for each connector. Ill see if I can dig them up. http://www.diy-efi.org/gmecm/ecm_info/16250279/
The 96 C/K list 5.0L, 5.7L, & 7.4L
I didn't check to see if the pinout for the 7.4L is the same on the other years

I am looking at doing this swap, does anyone know wher i can get the base calibration file for a 2001-2002 GMC Savana or CHev Express.

Thanks for the cal files, I appreciate it, and thanks for the warning, I am sure they will be closer then what I am going to get with the job that is going to show up today. :) Another shop is putting a rock crawler together and I am going to tune it, he has it running after the ECM swap, but he said it cherries red's the header as soon as it starts. Other then that I don't know anything about it. So, I am sure that this will be a step in the Right direction.
Has anyone thought about using one of these 411 PCM's or even the 98-99 Vortec PCM's on an LT1? Seems like it'd be alot easier to put a distributor in a LT1 than it would be to buy a huge 24x LS1 coil pack conversion. Just a thought that I may try to tackle with a buddies Impala. We really want HPTuner support for his car but don't want to go through all the 24x conversion to use coil packs and this seems like a little easier to do than the other anyway.
Whats your alls thoughts on that?

Will HPtuners even scan and/reset codes on the early "black" ecus ?

I know there is a bunch of emissions differences between the 1996-97 and the 98-00 engines. Differnt canister purge equipement. The 96-97 trucks for for the most part do not have VATS, whereas the 98-00 truck will have VATS.Quote:

Just an update. I ended up going with a 0411 swap. Everything has turned out good. I would recommend the 0411 for anyone with an OBD 2 OBS truck.

About to swap the 350 vortec in my van for the 454, will need to do something. Probably the 99 454 ecu
I would look at an 0411 swap instead of a 98-00 Black Box. But the Black Box swap from 97 to 98-00 is quite simple if you have the wiring pinouts for it.

If nobody around you has software to tune those vehicles, the cheapest option is to buy Jet Dst and tune it yourself.
Jet is not the best and customer support is garbage, but it is the cheapest option for end user.
I did the 411 swap a month ago and its running great. The swap didnt take too long 4 hrs or so. Thanks to Lextech, he hooked me up good!!
I did the 0411 swap on my 97 Express van a few weeks back and got around to dialing it in recently with a custom grind comp cam on a 110* LSA in the L31. It has some torque now.Quote:

I think it is a hardware limitation on the interface for any 256k (96-97 LT1/96-97 Vortec) PCM/VCM's.
If you want the easy fix, do a 98-00 VCM swap (minor pinout change) or go all out for a 0411 swap. I highly recommend the 0411 swap. You will not be disappointed.

I am new to the forum and HP tuners. I have a 95 C3500 2wd with 4L80E and a 96 Vortec 7.4L engine and PCM. I have the pin outs and am waiting for parts from to complete the PC 0411 swap. I have a 0411 from an express van with 5.7L. Where would I find a base file for this truck. This truck I am working on has a set of Ford Racing 24lb fuel injectors in it. Thanx from a newb.
You have a truck not a van. You need a C3500 2wd 454 calibration for a 0411. You can use a base 5.7L C3500 OE 0411 calibration. Yes they made them.Quote:
