What's the normal turn around time for a segment swap?
48hrs not including weekends.
Ok thanks bill. Ill be on the look out around Monday
Bill, I just want to make sure my segment swap email got through from [email protected]. Should I expect it today or tell my customer it will likely be tomorrow?
Thanks,
Ben
Ben yes its currently in queue and hope to have the new file back to you within 24hrs.
Just sent you guys another one for 4L60E to 4L80E with compatible files. Trying to get ready for a car show this upcoming Friday. Hope this resolves my issues.
I recently bought a 1999 truck PCM, and was told it was a 5.3l/4l60e, turns out it is actually a 6.0l/4l80e. From the sounds of this thread I'll need to segment swap, but I don't have a license for a 5.3l PCM, or access to anything that isn't in the repository. I'm on Beta and can covert it over to a tune from the repository, but it doesn't sound like that'll work. How do I fix this?
Start by reading your file and sending it to support, we can take a look and see what you want vs. what we can do.
are e series pcm's supported for segment swaps now? im dealing with an e67/t42 combo from a trailblazer ss, im needing it to run a 4l80e. ive read about people having segment swaps done, ive even got a tuning file thats claiming to be a 4l80e segment swap.
I hope support got my email about my segment swap. kc2jga@hotmail.
Mike, I don't believe so, please resend.
You guys still unwilling to do segment swaps in T42 TCMs? Would be nice to be able to use 4L80 gear ratios with a ISS.
Hi Bill, if i send you a ls1/4l60 tune and a 2002 truck lq9/4l80 tune can you swap the 4l80 segments over to the ls1/4l60 tune, i've removed the 4l60 and fitted a 4l80 it changes gears fine but having trouble with the lock up as it comes on in 2nd gear and stays on and stalls engine sometimes, thank you in advance
Where can I get the OS 9379910 file for a 4L80e swap? can someone guild me pleases.
to the top, first page edited!
Sweet deal bill.
As I don't have 2.25 and havent the need for a segment swap yet but I'd assume there is a "process" to follow under this new segment swapper that you follow when it needs to be done. I guess the pictures you showed just show that it was changed under the same car.
its straight forward, load the to file, load the from file via compare, click the segment swapper button then select the segments & click copy.
NICE!!! Great work fellas. Kicking ass and taking names.
Sounds straight forward. I might be a dumb. I do not see a segment swapper button. The files in the compare are 2002 silverado 4l60 and 2002 silverado 4l80.

Open the Compare menu.
I see. So it appears I can't swap segments with the two files I have loaded (option read only)?
Attachment 47121
click open compare file & open the compare file, then click the compare window again ;)
Ha HAAAA!!! you sir are the man!
Edit: think i have the same issue. the screen shot is swapping from the same file... :/ Button shows when you're swapping segments to the same file though!

I'm assuming that having the same controller would not be sufficient, but one would need the two files to have the same VCM OD ID as well?
one question , when you swap the trans im assuming you also swap the diag also
jim
If you do the trans. segment swap with the 2.25 version it´s not possible to open the file using the 2.24 anymore. What do I need to do in order to edit the file with the updated segments with the 2.24?
Just noticed this update.
Nice work and appreciated. This will make my life much easier. Thank you!
This has been working well with Gen3 stuff. How do we go about doing this on Gen4's with seperate TCM's. Example, I have a E38 computer avalanche that originally had a T42 4l60 that was swapped to a 6l90 with a T43. I have already tuned the same swap on another vehicle with the same operating systems and want to copy just the trans tune from the original vehicle into the new one. Hope this makes sense and i am sure there is a simple work around.
You can do it, just flash the TCM only. :)
I made bench harnesses for different PCM types I typically work with and can do them without the vehicle. I typically work with P01 and P59 controllers, but I get an occasional E38 and T42.
I love the separate flash, I've used it three or four times so far and I'm by no means a high volume guy.
