This is a known issue.
It's in the works. Users have sent in samples of several common widebands (including LM2 and MTX-L) for HPT to fix the serial logging in house.
Without having widebands in house to work with it was pretty tough to get working properly on all the different models just trying to follow some serial protocol that may or may not be what each unit is actually following.
So.. they're working on it. No ETA yet
Ok, How am I connecting my serial WB to HPT?? Also do you have the information for the AFM-1500? I have a serial port on my laptop but I guess I am not understanding how plugging my WB into that it is going to find its way into my HPT scanner.
Plug it into your computer. HPT will look at data available on serial ports and find it
I just got the v3 software and cable. I have an NTK AFR sensor that reads from 9-20 AFR 0-5v but the software reads a high of 19.42 AFR and my NTK display will say 20 on decel. I used the spreedsheet for the wideband to try to set up my own channel but it was not reading right either so I guess i used it wrong. Not sure if this is normal or not. It is really not possible to look at the NTK display and the afr in the scanner at the same time to see if they are exactly the same but it usually seems like they are.
When I set my wide band up. I put my laptop up by my gauge and took a picture to get them at same time.
yes do not use measurements on either extreme end to compare them.
at the max it may read different.
as where they may still be right at anything in between the max-min.
Smart guy! I actually took a video with the wideband gauge and my hpt scanner reading the wideband both in the same shot. I then went back and looked at both readings in slow mo over time and I could tell exactly which direction the scanner offsets needed to be tweaked.
BTW guys, I got my re-flashed AEM gauges back from dr.mike (SUPER FAST btw!), and have done a tiny bit of testing on them so far. My car is still in my shop so I couldn't really do any real testing, but hopefully it will be back on the road next week. Anyway, if my initial findings hold, there will be only one wideband that is worth using with HPT, that's the AEM 30-0300 reflashed to read as an ECU on the CAN line. Holy cr@p it's brainless to set up and so far seems to be hella fast and accurate. I'll post screen shots of log comparisons when I get the car back on the road. As far as accuracy and setup in HPT, I don't think there could be an easier wideband to configure than what AEM and dr.mike have come up with. AMAZING! (So far at least, I can't wait to compare reaction times to other widebands in my logs.)

I log the WB error (Graph) in closed loop and take the logged data as my offset as the NB O2's should be driving fueling to stoich or lambda 1.0. Go for a cruise, steady pedal like 20-30 mph to get good exhaust flow.

Any updates on the MTX-L WB serial issues? I tried it again the other day and it changed from reading in the 500's from a few weeks ago to the 2000's.
hmmm, it seems math is now how to setup user defined pids? Anybody know where the NGK AFX is? I see 40060 as being it but I don't know where to find it.

For WB you want to add the input to the channel list, right click, transform, and use that method instead. Not user defined PID's (now called math parameters)
Exception is if you're using an AC or EGR input to run the wideband through.
