you can play with deceleration fuel cut off DFCO, upshift & downshift & torque converter lockup tables for minor improvements

I have improved my mileage by 3+ mpg, AFE Stage 2 worth solid 1 mpg, Banks turbo Back No kitty, worth solid 1, retuning with my tow tune for optimum driveability, and a real good power increase worth a solid 1 to 1.5 mpg.Quote:

I have not dynoed it yet because I am focusing on driveability performance first and foremost, then mileage then the numbers, will be what they will be not worried about it because the truck is performing flawlessly at this point.Quote:

If I had to take a guess I would say it feels like 80 hp.
I will be picking up my new car trailer this week and will report on towing performance and mileage.
Ted.
80 hp. That is getting close for a 06 stock tranny. I think 85 is safe. Some guys are okay at 100. Some limp there. I used to run my hot juice & smoke at that level & I was okay. How much extra hp can the 05 tranny take? That would be great, if you would share you finding. Please post some numbers on that. Thanks.

Certain tables cause the TCM to not learn and that causes Limp.
Doesn't that number seem low for such a large transmission?Quote:

400 rwhp is pretty darn good on a stock tranny. I think the tq. that goes along with the hp is what really does kill it.
For a Stock Trans to handle a 50% increase in power is pretty darn impressive.Quote:

A recalibrated Allison Trans can handle over 600 rear wheel and over 1200 lb. ft. torque.
Ted.
400 hp alone doesn't sound impressive but you are right considering that a 400 hp diesel is making over 700 fl lb of tq. When it is stated that way it makes sense to me.Quote:

I hear that! I have destroyed more than my fair share of trannys. I haven't blown anything up with a 4.3 though.Quote:

Sometimes it is just software changes sometimes it is hardware changes sometimes it is both.Quote:

I personlly start with Software changes.
FWIW my 05 tranny limped at +60 hp. It was the low rpm TQ and driver using cruise that would do Torque Converter clutch in when towing heavy. New Suncoast Level IV tranny and TC doesnt seem to mind anything I throw at it.
