Anyone used a core ecu yet?
Prolly gonna have better luck finding people talking about it over at yellow bullet or the likes
I have one
Just got back from a small training seminar at HP Tuners. It only took me about 20 minutes to get it running from wizard to fire up on an LS1 on their test firebird. Some things were me being OCD but its no harder than any other product on the market if you know what you are looking for.
I’m curious if this removes the need for a lingenfelter 24x to 58x trigger box for older gen 3 ecu’s?
Maybe hptuners can chyme in on if this is true. Don't want to purchase something so expensive if I don't know for sure that is an option for the ecu.
RDF1 is right, CORE supports both 24x and 58x reluctor wheels. You just need to set the correct setting in the tune file.
We do not offer a harness that would directly suit your needs as the cam and crank position sensor connectors are different between a GEN 3 LS and a GEN 4 LS. The 24x Drive-By-Cable Harness would be the closest match that we directly offer on our website. The only thing that would have to be changed/modified from the 24x Drive-By-Cable Harness is the cam and crank position sensor connectors.
We work with EFI Connections who can make you a CORE ECU 24x Drive-By-Cable Harness with the appropriate 58x/4x cam and crankshaft position sensor connectors.
If you would prefer not modifying the 24x Drive-By-Cable Harness we sell, then please reach out to EFI Connections directly with this specific request.

If you were to buy a 24x Drive-By-Cable Harness we sell on our website, then yes the cam and crank position sensor connectors would have to be changed. Whether that is modifying the harness yourself or using an adapter (if available 3rd party), would be up to you.
Otherwise, you can contact EFI connections to build you a CORE ECU harness (with the right cam and crank position sensor connectors) to suit your specific application that would not require any adapters/you having to modify a harness.
Thanks for clarifying I was not sure how to tell them what I need. To clarify I’m giving you all info engine is a gen 4 427 58x triggers going in a 2000 fbody. I will reach out to them to compare prices and pros/cons vs changing reluctor wheel ect vs the lingenfelter box.
So it is a gen 4 engine? If it is a gen 4 engine that is using a cable throttle body instead of an electronic throttle, then this is type of harness is already offered by EFI Connections.Attachment 162531
So they got back to me and only stated they have crank sensor adapter harness p#6011 and cam sensor adapter harness p#6014. I forwarded our correspondence to them so they not understanding what I’m asking. Can you confirm which one I need since I have a cable tb on current set up. Sounds like maybe they don’t think I need it since they didn’t mention it. Per the pick you sent I guess I need the manual one. I will try to ask them again in a different way to clarify.
That part number saids it’s in the works and coming soon. Is there another option?
Efi got back to and stated CORE ECU will work with my current cable throttle body. Is this accurate?
Can you please send in a support ticket with your contact information?
I want to understand exactly what you are looking for and clarify any questions you may have.

I got EFi to call me and we talked on my set up and after discussion there is a lot of stuff they stated I would need to fabricate for just getting it to work so I am just going to opt for a lingenfelter converter box and keep rolling with my mvp3 for now. Maybe you guys will have a more plug play solution in the future for gen 3 and gen 4 LS as I was really looking forward to trying out this unit but didn't realize there is so many other things needed. I feel for that price just about everything should be included without having to hunt down missing pieces.
While we strive to support a wide range of engine and vehicle combinations, developing fully vehicle-specific plug-and-play harnesses for the CORE ECU presents significant complexity and scalability challenges. However, we continue to collaborate with partners who may be able to expand these offerings in the future.
Our current plug-and-play harnesses are engineered to provide seamless integration between the engine and the CORE ECU. They are intentionally designed for broad compatibility across various applications, in line with other leading solutions available in the market.
EFI did mention they did a one off plug and play for my 98-02 p01 unit for you guys. He stated if enough interest was there he would consider doing something like that as he has an fbody as well. Maybe you could see who all would be interested and calculate a group special with a price for say 25-50 people to buy in for the build as he stated it would take time to put together the kit but can be done if the need for it was there. I think a lot of people are sticking with the gen 3-4 platforms and more are getting in to doing tuning themselves so a demand is there if the price is right for buyers as well as enough people wanting to buy in on if you guys did a plug and play harness. I would definitely be on board. Just would need to know what the price would be.
