Trying to read in VCM Editor now... 'Unknown Controller'...
I thought I was... I just downloaded. It asks me to specify the PCM hardware? I specify MG1CS036, it seems to read a bit, asks me turn off, then back on, which I do. Then it just hangs there... Haven't been able to read or use the 4 universal credits I just bought...
5.1.4614 is beta I am using...
Do you have to pull the ECM and send it to HPT like the 21+ F150?
I have one on my laptop. Will grab it when I get home.
having the same issue, fails to read vehicle file. Any advice with this issue?
Sounds like they lied.... LOL
Have been talking to techs... 5.1.4620 made a little more progress reading, but then boinked again after on/off request... Hopefully the fixes will just keep coming...
Seems like they're having issues with the MPVI3, I've been back and forth with them all day updating the software and trying over and over, it gets about 4% further into the read before failing now. I wouldn't count on any more progress made today, their staff has likely gone home by now.
Just pulled a file off my bronco, I know not a mustang, but does have the MG1 computer as well and they just dropped support for it today. I saw 2 different MG1 that were able to be chosen from the dropdown when trying to do the initial read. Maybe the wrong one was selected? I don't have a 2024 mustang on hand to verify, I pulled that bronco file with a MPVI2+ also though so it could be something with the 3 like they said above
I will be testing that soon enough with my '21 F150 2.7 eco. I am hesitant to buy credits due to this not working for Mustang folks, but if you pulled it successfully off a bronco I would assume it will pull it off the ecoboost.
Anyway, here's the file I keep in my misc. folder. I looked at this file once when I first received it. Never again. From what I can recall is, it is the 24 model because of the twin TB's in the calibration.
Check it out. May not even be a Dark Horse. May be a manual GT. I never dug enough into it to care to try to learn it, with not being able to use it. LMK if anyone actually knows and can confirm it with a similar read you pull off.
Attachment 162319
Just did 4th...all good. OS is nothing new,hpt had those defined for a while including Dark Horse. OS is based on 21-23 F150 with few changes for Mustang
Same issue with my 24 GT w/whipple.
Latest beta. Tried RTD+ and MPVI2+ with no success. RTD isn't supported yet it seems and MPVI fails after a few %
use virtual read option
Send me vehicle info and I?ll help ya get the base file
also tried all options suggested only get to 7% then fails to read, just have to wait for the fix i guess
Send me the cal you using and I?ll help get a cal
Its the chassis issue, reads fine on a bench. Some of them read only virtual like 21-23 F150 used to.
What about RR3A-14C204-BBB
24 Mustang GT
I have not been able to get it to read or virtually read.
I am using a MPVI3
Here you go?.
Awesome!
I appreciate it.
Hey guys,
We're working on fixing this ASAP, fingers crossed we can sort it out first thing this morning. We confirmed the reading worked on a few cars but apparently there's something specific to the S650 chassis (presumably something with the gateway module) that's breaking the non-virtual read. As Vee already said, bench reads work fine and a gateway bypass would also probably work fine.
Virtual read should be fully functional unless we don't have the calibration in our database. We're adding things as we go. Thank you guys for your patience while we sort this out :)
so all the ones that are advertised on fb & the likes how were they read in or out of the car?
99% of them are going to be virtual reads. We didnt want to competely pull back the non-virtual read because its working correctly on every other platform we released on Friday.
A few people have done bench reads as well
Any update on whipple cal S650
Also the roush base would be mint!
S650 reading should be working as of VCM Suite 5.1.4626. We've confirmed on three cars at this point, but you may need to retry multiple times before it works
All you guys asking for Whipple/Roush support. Give me time to get those defined.
Hey guys! Thanks for all the debug work, it's truly appreciated.
I just ran 5.1.4628 beta on my 2025 GT PP, and it hung while I tried to 'Read Entire'. It tried a few times, but never past 1%; I had to use Task Manager to shut down VCM Editor.
On Virtual Read, I got request to turn off, wait, then on, then it failed again.
I assume you guys are banging away, so I'll chill for a few more hours to see if newer Beta versions arrive.
So close!!
Looking forward to it. Thanks for the updates!
I was able to read out my personal whipple car today, but does not verify checksum. Not too surprising for a tuned car.
I also had a customer bring in a stock car to read that out as well and it also does not verify checksum, seems they haven't added in a lot of software versions just yet
