411 PCM into 1997 L31 truck

Hello.

I and a few friends have come up with a conversion for the Vortec 350/305 1996-1999 GMC/Chev truck owners.

Take a 411 PCM from a 2001-2002 Chevrolet Express Van that was equipped with the 411 silverbodied PCM, swap to the dual 80 pin connectors, and flash the PCM with an 01-02 Express Van cal. file.

Advantages: No more 5800 rpm rev limit like there was with teh 1996-2000 "blackbox" 4 connector PCM's. No matter what tuning suite or Pro Tuner you use, you can enter the rev limiter fuel shutoff to 7000 rpm and the rev limit will be around 5800 rpm.
Another advantage is the ability to install a custom O/S for 2 or 3 BAR forced induction.

Currently I am using Tunercats OBD2 to tune my 1997 truck.

#1. My question is does HPTuners support the 2001-2002 L31 Vortec 350 GEN 1E equipped express Vans??
I see HPTuners supports the 01-06 5.7L workhorse, and the 01-02 5.3L V8 engine.
#2. Is there a 2 or 3 BAR custom O/S that my forced induction friends can use in their trucks with the 411 PCM?

Also here is a link to our Marine Intake manifold swap that allows larger conventional injectors to be used in the 1996-2002 L31 Vortec 350 and L30 Vortec 305 smallblock truck engines. Originally these engines come with a restrictive intake that comes with a 19 pph poppet style injector spider. Now I am running a 24 pph EV6 style injector which flows at 28.3 pph at the Vortecs 60psi of rail pressure.
With this intake, there is no more 400 crank hp power limit in our trucks. This intake swap is more of a bonus for the forced induction crowd, but I have noticed better power in the 4000-5800 rpm range on my stock longblock Vortec 350.

Try to read the pcm...it should read out but might not load...if it doesnt load send it to me at support at hptuners dot com and I should be able to get it supported. If it doesnt read send me a vcm suite infolog & I'll see what I can do.

I was able to down load & open a file from a 2002 GMC Savana van that had the 5.7 Vortec engine. The supported vehicle list incorrectly lists this vehicle as a Gen III engine. This is the thread were I posted the file.

I have a buddy that wants to tuning help with his 1997 1500, so will their be a possibility of support on the truck, or will there have to be a computer swap?

So, do I just add the 2 bar enhancement for the gen3 to the file?

Are the v6 and v8 pcms the same? Just different calibration files? Im thinking about this swap, I have an extra v6 ecm lying around. I am a mechanic for a local shop, and i looked up part numbers for the ecm's and they all come back as a 12200411. Could it be possible that they are all the same hardware just different programming?

I have a '411 pcm, I m planning to install the 327 in my 97 k1500 any advice would be helpful

Yeah, be ready to use 4 credits. Be sure you KNOW EXACTLY what calibration file you are flashing. Also you will have to disable a few mil errors, and vats. Other than that you will be really happy with your end result, I was.

P.S. The newer style injectors also make a BIG difference if installd at the same time. Damn poppets! GMs biggest mistake.:doh::shrug::banghead:

Lextech owns the spreadsheet and has asked for nobody to distribute it. You'll have to get it from him. He's on a couple different forums. Just send him a message with your email and truck info and he'll get back to ya

:pray: I need the 96-97 to 0411 conversion file and also the 96-97 to 98-99 conversion file. I will swap my truck to the 0411 and I want to test with a friends truck doing the conversion from 96 (Vortec) to 98 black box to be able to tune it with HPTuners.

Let's be real here guys $20 isn't a big deal. Lextech has been supplying anyone and their dog the spreadsheets for years for free. Honestly had I not already received all the spreadsheets from him. I would be first in line to spend $20 for all the work he put in over the years. Also guys you can purchase alldata and find any pinout/terminal information you need. I suggest you guys check the prices one has to fork out for information of the sorts. You'll find he is very reasonable reliable.

I am needing the pin outs. I don't have a 411 pcm but one from a 99 subarban 5.7l blackbox pcm. I can email photos of pcm.

I am new to this forum. I am currently building a 97 3500 crew cab dually. Truck originally had a 454 with the NV 4500 trans. When i purchased the truck the engine was locked up. I have bored and stroked it to a 489. Replaced the vortec heads for a better flowing set. Lunati Voodoo hydraulic roller, headers, Blue Demon 42 lbs injectors. Now i am wanting to do the 411 swap. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find the pin swap location. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Carl

Get the codes from Lextech. I did, followed the instructions carefully and fired on first turn of the key. I had 2 codes, the Case Learn error which Lextech told me I would have and a 2nd code due to a pin not pushed in all the way. My error.
