6.7 injectors in a 5.9

2005 5.9 with 6.7 injectors idling smooth and clean, clean on a couple quick stomps of the throttle out of gear

Did you use the entire injector or just change the injector nozzle? I believe the spray pattern is different, but do you know if 5.9 injector nozzles can be used on a 6.7?

I?m running the full 6.7L injector bodies and nozzles. I don?t think the nozzles are interchangeable between the 5.9 injector body and 6.7 injector body. The spray angles are different. The 6.7 spray spray works in all common rail 5.9 but the 04.5-07 spray angle isn?t good for the early common rail 5.9 or the 6.7. I can?t remember the angles but the 6.7 is really close to the early common rail 5.9 spray angle, 2 degree difference.

The 6.7 injectors on my 05 running off the 05 ecm is just fine. Very clean running, decent mileage, best I?ve had running the 6.7 injectors with 35? open country mt tires was about 19.2mpg mostly highway miles. Beside aftermarket intake and exhaust and the injectors, the truck is stock otherwise.

So, after some research (mostly on CompD), it appears the 03-04.5 and 07.5-on almost have the exact spray pattern (143* vs 146*). But, it doesn't sound like one could install the 03-04.5 nozzles onto a 6.7 injector. Are you able to confirm? I have the chance to buy some used 03-04.5 nozzles that are 100% overs. They would be overkill on my current setup, but am planning on adding a S475 as a primary on my truck.

The 03-04 has really close spray angle to the 07.5+, the 04.5-07 is fairly different. I can?t confirm if the 03-04 nozzles would mate up to the 07.5+ injector bodies. Never tried.
