A customer of mine sent us a tune to just import for him since we did his cam swap and left us his MPVI so I downloaded VCM Editor, Customer said credits are preloaded onto the module but I cant get it to read the vehicle

sounds like you didn't enter in the application key under Help-application keys to me given the minimal information you've provided.
