It is a PID that the PCM has and its for the TQ management function...
Setting it to 640 will almost eliminate torque management... it will destroy your tranny probably.
The torque I'm talking about isn't a map setting to change, it is an axis of the grid itself as part of the lookup table.
For example in the shift time it bases the shift time on the gear shift occuring against the 'torque' setting.
Ditto the pressure settings.
Also what defines 'Normal' vs. 'performance' maps for the A4? Is that normal vs. tow mode or something else?

I know its not a table.. its a single unit..its a constant...
The tables are changed via a toggle switch. If you have the switch you can select them.
The other should be the kick down.
If it is a constant then why is it the x-axis for the following table (among others)?

Would the switch be the tow mode? I assume it would be since that does change the shift points.

The AXIS you are referring to is the amount of engine torque in foot lbs.
This is a load value calculated by the VCM.
Older PCMS used %TPS and MPH for the trans pressure and shift time. It is now based on the calculated torque value.

Thanks. That was what I thought it had to be.
I'm guessing it is calculated by something like the Max Torque value (in Spark Retard) divided by (100/VE) or something along those lines?
