Which PID are you trying to log?
It should be something like WB EQ Ratio 1 (SAE).
-

Do you see it in the Channels list when connected to the car? It should show up as a 0x7E7 or similar, depending what address it is set as. Default might be 0x7E7, not sure.
THis is an example, I am not connected to the car, so it doesnt show the exact address, but this shows examples of what you should be looking for.
Dont choose it from External Inputs.. it's not using those. It's using a CAN address, just like the other GM OBD modules shown in this pic.

no, it doesn't look anything like thatAttachment 107783

don't know if it matters but its the gauge that has the pass-thru OBD connection

You need to click that little gear icon with the plus when connected to the car, then you should see the menu I'm talking about. You're just showing the channels list, you need to add the channel that I explained. I have two of these OBD gauges, there awesome and easy to set up. You're just looking in the wrong spot.
-
you were spot on thank you I'm still pretty green with fuel injection and hp tuners it's working like a champ

Glad it worked. It can definitely be confusing because it lists the AEM in that other list. Those are for everything non-CAN/OBD based.
I think you're gonna love that AEM, it's so fast there's no delay so what that means is you can get much more accurate fueling where you need it to be. I've had many others that are much slower including the NGK that everybody says it so great but it slow and it's hard to get it your corrections to perfectly with the actual engine data.. With the AEM you don't need to worry about it, Where it says you need correction is where are you add the correction.

Thank you 10_SS! I was blinded by the AEM menu too.

I'm having the same problem selecting the correct AEM WB channel. Here's my selector. The only WB is found under external inputs. There's no OBD or controllers
-
How to change the ECU#/PID is described on page 5 of the AEM user manual.

And where can I find the user's manual for WIDEBAND UEGO AIR/FUEL CONTROLLERS
PN: 30-0334?
Found it, thanks
Do I switch to Can mode? PID is not mentioned in the manual

If you're having trouble using the AEM X-Series OBDII WB channel in HPT, try this:
1. Delete contents of folder, HP Tuners\VCM Scanner\Vehicles
2. Download current HPT Suite (or Beta) and MVPI drivers,
3. Connect the laptop to OBDII,
4. Put the car in service mode,
5. Wait 20 sec. for WB to power/warm up,
6. Select mode "obd2" on the AEM gauge,
7. Close Editor and open Scanner.
8. Click "connect to vehicle" in scanner,
9. Repoll vehicle parameters,
10. Click gear icon with green + "add channel"
11. [add new channel] dbl click "WB EQ Ratio 1 SAE " under OBD2 [I don't remember the entire tree]. Do not click any External Inputs.
12. Click "Start Scan", the WB channel should remain in list and display active scan data.
13. Push ignition button to exit service mode.
14. Start engine, start scan, and the WB channel should display active scan data.
So, at least for today, it's working. Thanks everyone.
