Failure to retrieve flash data

Just got in a new pro and having issues with a 2011 sequoia keep getting failure to retrieve flash data any help would be awesome

Just to rule out easy stuff, are you connected to the internet?

So one needs to be connected or not connected to the internet when about to write the flash?

Internet connection is required to flash.
