Inconsistent GoPro 3 Connection with TA

I've got a GoPro 3 with latest firmware and the latest update of TA. I've been having inconsistent luck getting the camera to be recognized by TA while other accessories work fine (BT GPS). The camera is connected via wifi and will connect fine via the GoPro app but will not consistently get the green light from the TA app for control. it doesn't matter whether i boot up to GoPro app in the background or close it all together. Any additional troubleshooting tips would be great! Fortunately i just manually turn it on and sync it with RR after the fact but it would be great to have it all sync up. So far no amount of connecting, disconnecting, restarting of either brings consistency.
