Questions about MPVI 2 and widebands

So I am planning to buy HPTuners I?m the next month or so and I would like a wideband as well. The first vehicle I will be tuning is a 2005 Silverado 1500

So my question is if I don?t want to tap into my A/C circuit do I need to buy the MPVI2 PRO in order to quickly and cleanly be able to connect and disconnect my wideband from different vehicles that may or may not be canbus equipped?

Also does anyone recommend a specific AEM wideband?

This video gives good direction on using a serial input with an AEM 30-0300 X-Series and a TRENDnet USB to Serial Converter for computers without a serial port.
