2006 charger daytona 5.7 hemi tune issues

Good morning, i am very new to the tuning world and this is my first car to ever try to tune. i was wondering if any of you would be willing to point me in a better direction. the only upgrades to my car are cnc ported heads, racing lifters, and a street cam. cam specs: 210/222 .524/.524 Lift 112 LSA. i can get the car to idle smooth, but cant get it to chop at all, but the main question is my fuel mileage went from 19.7 consistently with MDS disabled to 13.10 even with running better fuel. is there anything i can modify or check to get the fuel mileage up some? it seems like a drastic loss for a small cam. thank you very much for your time. this is my daily driver/kids to school car.

Do you have a wideband? Post a tune up as well.

This is my current tune. thank you all for your time, i really appreciate any help you would be willing to offer.

At a quick glance i would say your VE tables are rich, especially in the normal driving light throttle areas. And spark tables are pretty high even for a 91 tune.

The spark advance is bone stock. I am still trying to figure out the fueling and how it works for our scats. I do see your PE has no curve tho. Why is that?

Good morning, I would prefer to tune it to run 87 octane with as much as I drive, but im not 100 percent sure what to set the ve tables at. I haven't messed with the PE at all. Still trying to take some baby steps lol

First, the cam is very small, it likely will not chop, especially if you have an elevated idle. Logging and correcting fueling errors via the ve table is where a lot of your fuel mileage will be returned. Secondly your air load has changed so its targeting different cells while cruising, which needs to be corrected, as its likely targeting much lower timing than what is needed for proper cruise and subsequently requiring more throttle, which creates a higher air load, and again, lower timing. Its best practice to get a quality log before doing modifications of all driving styles, so you can properly recreate those in the new file, to coincide with the mechanical changes you have made

Thank you sir, I have been trying to data log trips including in town and long runs on the highway. Still trying to learn how to read all the data. I can work on motors all day long bit reading the computer stuff made me feel like an idiot lol.

the tune you posted is that your tune ? or did someone give you a base tune ?

1st make sure in your VCM scanner Channels you are logging Fuel Mass Cylinder 1.
2nd Go in to your Graphs and set up a graph to log LTFT B1 + STFT B1 (if you don't now how it's ok, just let us know and someone will walk you through it)
3rd like Mbray says that cam doesn't lend it's self well to "chop" there are ways to get it to chop...but reality is your cams LSA is 112 and stock cam for those early Hemi(s) is 113LSA.
4th Max Airflow(table 44296) is too high, set it to 450G/s
5th The VE tables are stock,.
6th PE(Table 34243) table some one leaned it out from 3728rpm up to the top cell, while leaving WOT (table44442) stock.
7th the PT and WOT tables are stock for the 1st 3 columns.
8th, Stoich level was lowered to .0680 from stock .0694 , there's really no reason to change it unless you're stepping up to E85.
9th Knock sensors are desensitized by .08% , is there a reason ?

Next and not a big deal but should be looked at , Power request(table 35060) has been modified while Expected Pedal(Table 35064) is still stock they should be inverted to each other as closely as they can be.

stock cam is .
camshaft lift, intake: 0.472
camshaft lift, exhaust: 0.460
camshaft duration @.050″ lift: 196/196 degrees
camshaft lobe separation angle: 113 degrees

your cam added 14/26* duration and .052/.064 lift may not sound like much, because of the 113 vs 112 LSA ........ but power wise it should of added about 35-60 Hp .
with that cam the best you are ever going to get Mileage wise is 15/16 MPG

I tell people to log Base VE bank 1,base VE bank 2 and both Total VE (B1 and B2) that'll give you an ide of how much the tables will need work...and these Pre Eagle 5.7s need a lot of work.

thank you for your response, its a base tune i had from before the cam and heads. stock the car wouldn't start and run, so i tried loading that one and then modified some of the smaller things to make it stay running and drivable. i changed the rpms to be a bit higher and took out the negative spark at base idle. i appreciate all the info and will get on making these changes asap!!!!

My Sisters daily beater(06 Maggy) has a similar cam , her's is 528/528 212/220@ .050 114LSA , this is a tune based on her's,just load and go, My uncle wrote the tune 6 years and 80k miles ago, Cars be deep in to the 12 with this tune.
