Torque converter lock up 6L80e in a patrol
Hey guys
Looking for some advice on where to start with tuning a 6l80e with some do's and dont's
Backstory
Pretty new to HP Tuners (and tuning in general), I recently transplanted a 2008 statesman l98 and 6l80 in to my Patrol (a 2008 ST patrol, ex 3,0)which has 35inch tyres and 4.11 diff gears
Recently we purchased a caravan that might be slightly heavier than the car should tow 2800kg unloaded, 3500 loaded. The Motor ran at 90C the whole time towing but the box got to 130c with 3 transcoolers on it.
I watched a couple of videos online about adjusting the box to lock up the torque converter but then i noticed it seems to stay locked when I'm driving and during gear changes. I've since undone the changes as the car started studdering going up little inclines. I can validate that the torque converter was locking up as i would get off the peddle and it would engine brake coming down hills.
Anyway i scraped the new shift tune, i have the bluecat tool and i want to try again but i now dont know where to start.
