I have read lots of posts as to how much timing you should run on the highway in a 3800 GTP. It varies anywhere from 50 degrees to 42. There has to be a sweet spot somewhere between too little and too much. What do you guys recommend?

Around 40-43 or so should be fine.
One thing I discovered while tinkering with my Cruise Timing, if you don't Disable the EGR Diagnostics, it will add 6 degrees of Timing to your Cruise Timing. I had mine set to 42 degrees, and I kept getting 48 to 49 when I scanned the car. Never to old to learn a few new tricks.
Thanks for the info... I knew the extra cruising timing was related to the EGR, but never thought of turning of it's diagnostics.
Cars I've had ran anywhere from 42 to 50 timing at cruising.
