Is there anything I need to do to make my histograms and MAF log on the scanner?
Need an infolog(via the vcm scanner) & the .hpt file from the vehicle.
at work for now I will post those up as soon as I have my tuning laptop in front of me.
No they are a retarded mix of speed density and alpha-n. Spark, idle, and coast down are speed density. Low RPM and High RPM fueling are alpha-n. I want to strangle the whole GM tuning department and cut their dicks off with a rusty spoon (not in that order) every time I think about this car.
Oh yea, I had fun with a 1998 2.2... I hear ya Leafy.
any reason my histograms arent working? Spark retard, advance...
Like just not working right (ie only showing stuff in 1 column but not others that it should), sitting there like they should work and not showing anything, saying that the parameters aren't supported? The first 2 I would say to upgrade to beta, that fixed some of my histos not working right (like decel). If its the last one are you sure you setup the histos while the scanner thought the car connected was a cavalier? I'll tell you that if I set up histos in default camaro mode then none of them will work on a cavalier even though the table may be the same. its weird.
yeah connect to the car or load a log of the car then make your histograms.
*wait it shows that you did that. Weird.
Because you are trying to setup an unsupported table, your histogram configuration screen will CLEARLY show this.
The histogram consists of 2 main parts.
A table or, for custom histograms, 2 axes
The Data you want to view ie spark advance(sae)
The data to allow you to PLOT against a table or two specific axes ie RPM vs MAP or RPM vs TPS or what have you.
If you are missing any ONE of these items it will break the histogram.
In this case you have a table meant for a 2002 Camaro/Firebird selected(which is the default vehicle) rather than a table for YOUR application.
Is there any way I can have you guys walk me through this? Obviously I do not know the steps needed to scan a car other than an F-Body...
I have completely uninstalled all of my HPTuners and reinstalled it, so I am ready to start fresh...
I can start emailing support if needed since this is a beta.
I have no problems tuning my NA F-body, but I am lost when it comes to other vehicles.
Thanks everyone for all of your help
Ok plug into the car. Then make your histograms, and put the correct parameters on the chart view.
This should get you started. You need a wideband for the AFR histograms to work.
Russ Kemp
If I plug into the car wont it load one of the configs that are already in place?
I have to start somewhere on some type of config right?
I will give Russ' a try, but I really need to know how to set them up for myself too. I know this is easy once you get it but I just cant seem to wrap my head around it all.
