Controller Not Supported.- Select different Firmware

Went to install device today and when I went to read the vehicle I ended up shutting down the app mid way but it was working with no issues. Now when I try to read the vehicle it says Controller Not Supported to select a different firmware for this vehicle or use VCM editor. I tried changing firmwares, and then back, etc. so much that after a few hours this thing drained my battery..now I'm waiting for the battery to recharge to try again. Any suggestions?
