"Interface not found"... but it worked 10 seconds before

I successfully connected VCM Scanner and tested my new fans, great! Close that and go to the Editor and suddenly I'm getting this "Interface not found....." error. What the heck HPT? It worked 10 seconds before. Same cable, same laptop, same connection, etc. I checked and all my drivers are current. Restarted Windows. Updated to the latest VCM Suite. Nothing. Device is powered up, car starts & runs fine so the ECM is working, I can see the MPVI in my device manager, etc.

Any thoughts?
