Driver Demand vs Gear Question

Is there anything to adjust driver demand vs.gear ratio?

For example, if I am 50% pedal position and let's just say it is 70% throttle, when it downshifts the higher axle torque is pulling throttle back to say 40% for the same 50% input.

I have a log of what I am talking about, I just can't find which one it is in.

I would like to be able to stop that from happening. These driver torque demands are annoying. My brain/foot are calibrated so when I give it 50% throttle I really mean I want the throttle to open 50% :D

These are torque based controllers, your 40% throttle with a lower gear ratio gives the same axle torque as 70% and a higher gear ratio.

Of course theoretically to get an auto to down shift you need to increase pedal position so technically you won't have the same 50% pedal input.

You command a torque with the pedal, the ECM picks a MAP and spark to get there (and if auto it picks a gear ratio also). If the MAP it needs is 40% throttle then that's what you will get.

You need to get into the TCM. I was more descriptive in the other thread. You're going to chase your tail trying to get what you want via the Driver Demand Tables.
