Noob question about maf

Please forgive me for a noob question. I am not a tuner by trying to complete a build. LM7 with 4l60e using LS1 intake. No power adders just small cam and bolt ons. The ecm I have has a base tune and set up for speed density. Going to order a BP harness and it has MAF options for LS1 5 pin or LS3 5 pin card style or speed density.

1: For a basic setup like mine would SD or Maf be better? Is one easier or more reliable to tune than the other?
2: Can I run the LS3 card without any tuning problems?

Asking this cause I want a simple clean air intake but don't want to buy the wrong stuff and when its time to get tuned I find out.

Speed density is pretty simple to tune, I'd have no problems doing that. You just have to wire in a IAT sensor into the intake.

A speed density operating system is offered on just about all the early P01 computers, so that could be applied to make speed density more usable.
