Selling an MPVI2 and was asked about the serial number

I was asked for the serial number, to check against some "blacklist" of hacked devices. . If I give out the serial number, can it be used to register another device? I have this advertised in a GM tuner group on FB, and I see that request for S/N has been deleted.

No just giving someone your serial number is not enough information to register a device.
