Question about credits
So, I had sent my ECM off for a mail order tune and I am not happy with it. It?s an extensive upgrade build on a 6.0 ls1 cam injectors and more...
I decided to go the MPVI2 route and start from scratch. I pulled a stock 6.0 tune to work with and now I can?t write the tune to my truck? I guess my question is about how the licensing works? I used the vin change wizzard as well
What am I missing here?

In order for YOU to tune YOUR vehicle using YOUR mpvi interface YOU would need to license the vehicle on YOUR mpvi interface.
Licenses are linked to the interface so wherever the interface goes so do the licenses.
-
I?ve already licensed my vehicle. And performed several successful writes with the mail order tune already.
-
So it wont let you write a stock tune? have you tried just copying the parameters and rewriting it that way?
-
I copied parameters from the current tune over the stock repository tune before work but ran out of time to test it again... night shift this week.
I think the problem is the license is based not just on the vin but the serial number of the ECM as well. That?s the part I was missing.
The VIN change wizard obviously won?t change the ECM serial so a compare file copy over is the only way.

Copy over differences from the file in the repository to your tune, if your writing the tune from the repository, it requires you to license that file to write it
