10-14 E38 with 6L80...what years or OS

I do a lot of gen 4 swaps in vintage vehicles. Mostly use 2010-2014 E38 ECMS and 6L80 transmissions. I'm starting to do all of the programming and tuning in house and have some questions about the TCM's. Ive been told that if I use transmissions newer then 2014 that the Operation System wont work with my 10-14 E38's. Is that true, and if it is can I change the OS with Hptuners, or is there a work around? Almost all of my 6L80's that I'm getting now are 2017 or newer and Ive been sending out the TCM's to get the older version OS installed in them.

or get a tactrix cable and sps subscription and do yourself?
