ECM erased, please help!

I was updating my ECM, but the car and tuner lost connect during transfer (they both had power, so I am unsure how this happened). Now when I connect to the ECM it does not provide a VIN number and reads my car as a 2009 Camaro when I actually own a 2012 Camaro. It says the vehicle is unlicensed now, so I am unable to write back to the ECM. I need help to reset/recover/rewrite to get the car operational. All suggestions welcome!!

I would try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. It’s hard to kill an E38 unless you are writing a file based on something you didn’t read from that particular ECM.

I was able to get the issue resolved through HPtuners support. I did try disconnecting the battery though and quite distressed when it did not work. Thank you for the advice!
