The hardware is a Speartech Harness for LS that is made from a repurposed GM ECU.

Speartech says they set up the ECU using HPTuner software

Yes, do not like what they have, and I don't recall that you can use your can data.

The can based clusters are out there, all sorts of SBC solutions with some compromises on speed or graphics.
