I'm officially stumped.
It just doesn't make sense.
What's the PCV system look like? Deleted? Catch Can? Stock?
Could too much crankcase pressue cause something like this?
Or better yet, a lot of oil misting up and getting sucked through the...
Clogged Cat? if it has cats that is.
A single bad fuel injector?
Did you try all the silly stuff like moving o2's from bank to bank to see if the MV difference follows the o2 or stays on the...
Sorry to bring back an old thread, but did anyone find out why the 04 GTO won't go into/stay in PE mode at Idle?
I can set it all up based on MNR-O's instructions, but as soon as the ECT reaches...
Solid state would be great, but way too much $$$$ to be practical at this stage.
Some interesting info there. Makes me glad I've got a Gen III and can adjust switchpoints once I get the wideband situation squared away.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I really...
I did that soon after realizing there was a problem, but after speaking to the people at the shop where I dyno'd, they were gung-ho to replace it, so I'm going to let them.
It will be interesting...
I spoke to the shop I purchased it from and they notified PLX of the problem. PLX are replacing the unit.
To answer your question, I mean the AFR number I get from HPTuners using the (2*PLX...
I read through the entire Perplexing PLX thread and the only difference seems to be mine is off the same amount in both open and closed loop.
One more thing to note is that the readings mentioned...
I went to the dyno this weekend and according to its wideband, my PLX is off by .9 on its AFR reading. Incidentally, that is about how much difference is shown between my wideband and my narrowbands...
Here's the rest of that thread.... There is a lot of good info there if you can wade through it.

Check that out and see if it helps you any. Mine idled like crap until I drilled a second hole in the TB.
Try subtracting a little from your running airflow table.
When i had a similar problem on my 05 GTO with ETC, that seemed to help lower it some. Don't go too low as the car will want to stall, but...
Update....
Vacuum leak FTL ! ! ! Retorqued the intake manifold bolts and all surging and stalling at idle disappeared.
Where's the smiley for smacking yourself in the head when you need it?
That's normal on the ETC cars unless you switch to a different PID for TPS.
There are a few threads on it around here.
To the OP. Missing a gear is devastating to track times. Try again before...
Look for the highest vacuum. That is the optimal timing.
Usually its in the 20's. Lower for smaller or stock cam. High 20's low 30's on larger aftermarket cams.
Break out the wideband and get the fuel right...then adjust timing for highest vacuum.
Mine still has cats and can choke you at idle....I'm still trying to get mine done. Takes a lot of adjusting...
Can you attach a scan of the behavior and a copy of your tune so that we can see it in action?
Shouldn't make a difference if you dont have a MAF
This is a good thread. I noticed today after I re-enable closed loop that my narrowband O2's are switching at about 15.5 on the WB.
I think...
I managed to get this thing to idle today.
Here is what I did:
1) Plugged the extra hole I had drilled in the TB when I had a larger cam in the car and needed the extra flow.
2) Scanned for...
I've got mine turned off permanently. If I leave them on the LTIT and STIT together make my car stall when I shift into reverse from park.
But once RAF was right, it probably wouldn't hurt to turn...
Thanks for the reply Bill.
I actually tried to e-mail or PM you directly because I figured you would be the most knowledgeable person on this particular subject, but of course you have PM's and...
I have a friend that is wanting to use HP tuners for his RegalGS and it currently has a DHP PowrTuner tune on it.
The first question is will he be able to read the DHP tune, make changes, and then...
I use RussK's config file and that is exactly what I'm doing. For some reason its just not working for me.
Any time I lower the RAF table to match what the Desired Airflow should be, it starts...
Every time I try to use this method, I end up with the car stumbling and stalling.
Example: I log Idle Desired airflow vs ECT and plot it in a custom histo from a cold start. My STIT's are about...
