Sorry to bring up an old thread but was just reading over some TM stuff.
I was under the impression that TM function was to pull timing and reduce the torque output whilst the trans was shifting...
I'm pretty sure it's the CT Downshift master "enable/disable" tab.....must be "enabled" for the rev matching to occur
Someone has suggested to me that I may have excess throttle air but I'm not sure where in the tune it is that needs to be changed to reduce this?
Hi guys,
Car is a 2010 Commodore SS (Pontiac G8) with 6L80 trans
Today I installed an OTR cold air intake (that incorporates the stock MAF)and a tune from a friend. I didn't want to do a...
Hi guys,
Just fitted a full exhaust system (headers, high flow cats, 2.5 inch all the way) to my G8 but now I'm getting the error on the dash relating to the cats as they are high flow. Can...
Hi guys,
I've got a Commodore SS (Pontiac G8) with the L76 motor which boasts the AFM. I want to put a set of headers and high flow cats on but keep the stock system from cats back. I'm also...
Holden (GM Australia) did a tune upgrade around mid 2008 which will probably be the one you're referring to. They have spent a lot of money and time developing the latest tune which came out in the...
Allmachtige,
I've found that playing with the Shift Time Transition tables for the 2-3 shift dramatically improves the delay from stock tune. Make your "Initial Normal" table all 0.2998 and make...
HP Tuners doesn't have tables to make changes to the Rev Matching except to turn it off by "Disabling" the CT Downshift Torque Management tab.
The Parametres that control it are in the TCM and...
LSX378,
That was my understand of those numbers too. And with that in mind I've always just left mine alone. At one stage I thought it was making a positive improvement to my 2-3 shift but...

Anyone had time or bothered trying out these new settings?
Hey guys,
This attached tune is the most current for the Holden Commodore SS auto (Pontiac G8). It is very different to the early ones but I think I've mentioned that before.
I have used the...
I'm using 3567.30387 Beta?? But I can't see much difference in the trans section from my older versions I've had?
Oh cool...keep everyone posted as to what you find out mate
They do nothing mate. A few of the guys on the forum, who live in the States and have access to Tech 2, have mentioned what happens when you do a "Fast Learn". Bascially...you'd know when it...
It's all under "Engine - Fuel Control - COT/Lean Cruise".
If DOD is enabled then you have AFM and all the tables directly below that are what is used to decide when and if it is active. ...
Wouldn't you have to make changes to some of the shift pressure tables too given the Corvette shift times would be quicker than the stock G8? And wouldn't you also need to make changes to the...
I was talking about part throttle shifts and the shifts feel more firm. But only slightly. For the most part it appears to take away that "slushy" feeling that the 6L80 is famous for when it is...
By the way........
This afternoon, for the first time, I "zeroed" out all the "Desired Output Torque" tables and gave it a run. These tables are right down the bottom left hand side of the "Shift...
I believe your issue may be that the harsh feeling your getting is when the TCM is actually commanding a "Base Power Downshift" as it is this table which has been significantly reduced from stock. ...
Yeah...it's not my tune cause I've never played around with the Min Power Downshift tables. I learned recently thought that most of the time when the base table (Min Power Downshift) is increased to...
The TCM has a number of downshift tables to work with (CT, Min Power, Power). Does anyone know what driving conditions determine when the TCM will use Min Power table instead of Power?
I'm...
I'm wondering if your "Base Power Downshift" time of 0.2002 is too low when you take into account the "Shift Time Inertia Adder" for that particular downshift.
You'll notice the majority of the...
Can you post your current tune that you're having issues with?
I also like to keep the Torque Management "Enabled" no matter what but play with the numerous settings to achieve what I consider a nice shift feel. The Adder Modifier table allows so much variance...
