Hi all, quick and hopefully simple question. For the 2014 Ram 1500, 5.7, is the downshift on the zf8 transmissions only influenced by shift schedule table, or does the torque demand tables also play...
Hi, just wanting to find out how long you waited for a response from support? I've been waiting 3 weeks for a PID update to the ZF8 for shift ID, not sure how long this is supposed to take them but...
Hi all,
does anyone know how to change the "sensitivity" of the downshift on these boxes? I've spent many, many hours getting the shift schedule working better, but there's still often occasions...
There’s a comment in the forum about it being counter intuitive, can’t recall where. For mine I just zeroed them out in the baro range I operate in.
Sounds like a lean condition. What worked for me was to increase the ECT VE modifier for coolant temps below 40deg. C (as it was usually the first start that was the main issue) and halve the idle...
Try increasing your drive idle speed, you can also try changing you friction table in the low rpm range.
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll order those and move on, was hoping these was an easy way out.
Without looking at the tune yet, I’m pretty sure it needs more startup air.
Not sure I’m explaining it properly, but I want the solenoids open, all the time. Disabled MDS would mean the solenoids are never energized.
Away from the truck at the moment. Plan on doing this next month, will let you know.
I’ve replaced the lifters with non-mds lifters and a supporting cam. I’d like to feed pressurized oil into the gullies permanently to improve the lifters lubrication and thereby reducing the chance...
Hi all,
is there an easy way to keep the MDS solenoids open through HPTuners without affecting anything else? Assuming not, but thought I'd re-throw the question out there.
Thanks,
Excellent, thanks for the feedback.
Thanks for the feedback, I’ll give it a try and see how it goes. I never know which of the 4 tables I’m on so I’ll adjust them all.
Cheers
Just realized I should've put this in the trans section. My bad.
Hi all,
just curios, has anyone used the "Tow/Haul" mode in the Ram 1500 5.7's as a way to switch to a more "performance orientated" shift pattern? Almost like using it as a "sport" mode button.

Thank you sir, much appreciated.
Hi all,
I ran a log earlier, trying to figure out why my TB only opens to 76.1%. When looking at this, I also noticed that my desired airflow is always higher than the actual airflow. I've added...
Hi all,
I've been searching for definitions for the below tables/areas in the ECU. Any comments/feedback appreciated. Also, is there a book equivalent that one can buy to better explain these?

Thanks for the feedback. I'll try re-enable the spark and see what she does.
Hi all,
I've been spending alot of time fine tuning my transmission, and undoing some of the things that were done during an email tune I installed, but only if I understand it. To that point,...
Hi,
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll give that a try. Would you mind sharing which tables I should try adjusting?
Thanks, I understand the concept. Has anyone seen or used this table before?
Thanks, will do. At light throttle using the the TCC lock out is what I’m after. I should’ve added I have a cam and raised the shift points, and would like to have more of a fluid transition at...
Hi all,
just wanting confirmation on the TCC. If I want to smooth out 1st and 2nd gear, so there's less of a "hit" when commuting slow raffic, will disabling the TCC in first and second gear...
