Nothing is foolproof. Autotune, of course, is not foolproof. Would it save time, yes. It would save more time for some than it would for others. I have seen posts on this forum from HPTuners which...

I think that it is a given at this point that the guys just are not capable of providing autotune. I mean it has been so long in the "coming in a future release" phase that you have to feel that the...

    Re: Need some thoughts please.

Running lean at startup is normal. The air pump is blowing air into the exhaust stream which confuses the 02 sensors. Should stop after a minute or so.

    Re: Running really rich

So, how do you know you're running way to rich? How are you measuring the AFR?

    Re: BOOST Tuning

Guys. I'm trying to follow along but I'm not quite getting it. I mean, the really high boost vehicles don't use a MAF. Why do you feel that boost without a MAF would be a bad thing?

    Maybe you...

    Re: BOOST Tuning

My SC is internally lubricated with no connection to the engine oil supply. It is also mounted in the right front of the engine just behind the radiator, not on top of the engine. The SC blows into...

Re: Tune LFTF with or without MAF ?

Yeah, you're right. But If you live in a relatively mild climate area, where the temperature doesn't drop below freezing a lot, then I don't believe that the MAF makes much difference.

    On the...

Re: Tune LFTF with or without MAF ?

I don't understand why anyone wants to continue with the trouble of tuning with the MAF. Replace the MAF with a straight bellows, do your tuning, and leave the MAF on the workbench forever.

The wideband must be installed before the CATS.

    Re: BOOST Tuning

I think I am going the direction of SD because the MAF does impede airflow which impedes performance. So I'm going to replace the MAF with a straight bellows. Then I'll play with the SD tune.

    Re: BOOST Tuning

The ATI procharger I'm installing has a bypass valve connected to the vacuum. As boost is applied, the valve closes. Seems to me that if I adjust the valve so that it is only half open before boost...

    Re: BOOST Tuning

So let's see if I have interpreted this correctly....

    1. SD tuning is only necessary if the MODS performed have exceeded the capacity of the PCM to control normally.

    2. MAF tuning is sufficient...

    Re: BOOST Tuning

I like the back to carburetor idea. How do you know if your VE table and MAP sensor can measure greater than 105 kPa? I think I did read somewhere that I need to replace the MAP with a 2bar MAP. But,...

    Re: BOOST Tuning

Based on what I have read, seems like SD is the way most people are going for better performance. But maybe that is wrong. I haven't seen any comparisons as to the benefits of SD vs MAF. I guess it...

    BOOST Tuning

I'm installing an ATI Procharger with 7 PSI boost. Do I really need to have the 2BAR support enabled to properly tune for this upgrade?

Your question is a little confusing which is probably why the responses are slow. Might be better if you stated what you are trying to accomplish i.e. what horsepower with what what fuel psi.
